Current Statues of DM Union

Name, place and purpose
§ 1
1.01 The organization’s name is DM Union.
1.02 The home of the organization is Frederiksberg.
§ 2
2.01 The purpose of the organization is to create social bonds for all students at the DM programme through social and academic activities. The organization is a non-profit organization.
Members
§ 3
3.01 All students of the DM programme are automatic members.
The general assembly
§ 4
4.01 The general assembly is the organization's highest authority. The ordinary general assembly is to be held 4 months after the financial year ends. The ordinary general assembly has as a minimum the following agenda:
- Election of conductor
- Election of taker of the minutes
- Election of two vote counters
- The Board’s report
- Approval of the annual accounts and budget
- Proposals
- Election of the Board
- Any other business
4.02 An extraordinary general assembly shall be held when a general assembly, a majority of the board or 1/10 of the members of the organization requests it. The extraordinary general assembly has as a minimum the following agenda:
- Election of conductor
- Election of taker of the minutes
- Election of two vote counters
- Any other business
4.03 After the election of the conductor, the conductor needs to check the legal basis of the general assembly according to the statutes, before the general assembly can proceed. At all times during the general assembly, the conductor is responsible for ensuring that the general assembly complies with the statutes.
§5
5.01 The general assembly is convened by the board in writing with 14 days’ notice, however, at an extraordinary general assembly, if necessary, the notice can be reduced to 7 days. The notice shall include the agenda of the general assembly.
5.02 A proposal at the ordinary general assembly must be sent to the president at least 7 days before the ordinary general assembly. Proposal for consideration at the ordinary general assembly has to be sent out to the members 5 days before the ordinary general assembly.
5.03 A proposal at the extraordinary general assembly must be sent to the president at least 5 days before the extraordinary general assembly. Proposal for consideration at the extraordinary general assembly has to be sent out to the members 3 days before the extraordinary general assembly.
5.04 Access to attend and speak at general assembly, to make a proposal and run for a position, has any member of the organization.
5.05 Each member has one vote. A member may not give a proxy to another member to vote on the member's behalf.
§6
6.01 The general assembly takes decisions by simple majority. However, a change of statutes requires that 2/3 of the attendees favor the proposal for the change.
§7
7.01 Persons running for a position at the general assembly have to announce their candidacy written to the president prior to the election of the position the same amount of days as a proposal prior to the general assembly. Candidacies must be sent out to the members together with proposals for consideration.
7.02 Elections of a person are by default done by a vote of confidence, where votes only can be casted in confidence or no confidence. If the general assembly has no confidence in the candidate for a position a new general assembly must be called after the current general assembly.
7.03 If multiple persons run for one or more posts, the election is won by the candidate(s) with the most votes.
7.04 If the general assembly does not elect a new board for two consecutive general assemblies; the organization will begin the dissolution of the organization.
7.05 The conductor or any member of the organization can call for an anonymous vote at any time. Anonymous votes are done written with a ballot.
§8
8.01 Minutes of the general assembly and possible changed statutes must be signed by the new president, the conductor and the taker of minutes.
8.02 Minutes or similar information about the decisions taken at the general assembly must be announced to all members no later than 2 weeks after the general assembly.
The board
§9
9.01 The general assembly elects a board to handle the daily management of the organization and execute the general assembly’s decisions.
§10
10.01 The Board consists of 6 members; including a president and a vice-president. The board organizes itself at the first board meeting after the general.
10.02 The board is elected until the next ordinary general assembly.
10.03 If a board member resigns during the election period so the number of board members is less than 3, an extraordinary general assembly must be called for election of additional board members. The duration of the election period for the new member(s) will equal the remaining period of election time for the resigned member(s).
10.04 If the president or vice-president resigns during the election period, the board chooses a new president or vice-president from itself until the next general assembly.
